Speech from the Farewell Session of the “Two-Day International Conference on Contemporary Business Trends” at NIT Srinagar

SRINAGAR: Councilor Bhatnagar remarked today that research, technology, innovation and incubation are the main tools to fulfill people’s aspirations for an emerging nation like India which is an ambitious society.

The adviser made the comments while addressing the farewell session of the “International Two-Day Conference on Contemporary Business Trends (ICCBT)-2022” at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) here.

Addressing the gathering of eminent researchers, scholars and students from different institutes across the country, the adviser remarked that collaborations are essential for the development of any society and therefore we should endeavor to collaborate with the government institutions, research organizations and other establishments so that something important can be brought to society.

The counselor added that we all need to have a problem-solving approach and not refrain from facing problems. He added that problems create opportunities which in turn result in producing something unique and remarkable for society.

Highlighting the importance of the conference, Advisor Bhatnagar said that this conference will emerge as a major contributor to contemporary business trends and will broadly address issues related to marketing and other aspects of the business world. He added that hopefully this conference will generate at least five ideas that will revolutionize contemporary business trends around the world.

While talking about the transformation of J&K over the past few years, Councilor Bhatnagar said that UT of Jammu and Kashmir is on an accelerated path of growth and development. He added that in recent years, the institutes of academic excellence like IIT, IIM, IIMC and others have been established here. “UT of Jammu and Kashmir is the only UT across the country that has two AIIMS institutes,” the adviser said.

Speaking on the occasion, Director of NIT Srinagar, Prof. Rakesh Sehgal said that due to the Covid19 pandemic, the economic landscape has changed drastically around the world. “During the two-day conference, a mix of rigorously researched papers and live discussions took place with industry experts. It also focused on emerging issues in the new world of business” , did he declare.

Dr. Rahul Mirchandani, MD, and CEO of Aries Agro and Co-Organizer, ICCBT-2022, said the conference aimed to educate attendees on contemporary business trends and their impacts on the global economy.

Prof. Abdul Liman, HOD, Department of HSS&M, in his welcoming remarks, said that this conference aims to allow for reflection, deliberation and suggestion of necessary and desired actions in the current challenging business scenario.

In his keynote address, NIT Registrar Prof. Syed Kaiser Bukhari said this conference will act as a dynamic platform for young researchers and other attendees. He added that the institute will also host other such conferences in the future.

During the conference, special addresses were also delivered by Prof. GA Harmain, Prof. HAG, Department of Mechanical Engineering, and Ehsan Javaid, President, J&K Chapter, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).

Relevantly, the two-day International Conference on Contemporary Business Trends, 2022 was organized by the Department of Humanities, Social Sciences and Management NIT, Srinagar in partnership with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Young Indians (Yi) with the main objective of identifying several ways to manage the changes across the world due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
