The Halloween festivities begin this weekend and this year we’re giving you a rundown of all the events happening in Monterey, San Benito, and Santa Cruz counties.

October 28

Family Roller Party Costume

The Downtown Association will be hosting a costume party on the rooftop parking lot at the corner of Walnut Avenue, Cedar Street and Church Street. Bring your own skates, blades, boards and scooters! Also bring beach chairs, for added comfort. Thanks to local sponsorship, participation is free!

29 october

Watsonville Día de los Muertos

The Watsonville Film Festival presents its 4th annual Día de los Muertos with the animated film “Coco”. Families will be treated to performances by El Sistema, the Academia de Música Ilusión, Estrellas de Esperanza, White Hawk Aztec Dancers and Esperanza del Valle. People are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets and war clothes

Where: Place Watsonville

Drive-thru safe or treat at the Santa Cruz County Fairgrounds

The Santa Cruz County Attorney’s Office is hosting a Trunk or Treat drive-thru service for families at the Santa Cruz County Fairgrounds near Watsonville.

The hours for this event are 3:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. or while supplies last.

COVID-19 guidelines will be followed for the safety of participants.

October 30

Downtown Salinas Trick or Treat

Trick or Treat event downtown from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

October 31

Seaside Halloween Bonanza

This free family event for kids 10 and under will feature a haunted house, glowing necklaces and free candy bags for the first 300 kids, plus carnival games with prizes and crafts.

When: 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Monterey’s Old Fisherman’s Wharf: Trick or Treat by the Bay

Come dressed up and enjoy this free family event on the occasion of Halloween. Trick or Treat and receive sweet treats from participating merchants on the dock. Candy World will feature a witch for fun photo ops and special Halloween candy. Take part in our special Halloween costume contest on the platform at 5:00 p.m. hosted by David Marzetti and win cash prizes

When: Sunday, October 31, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Where: Old Fisherman’s Wharf de Monterey (GPS at 101 Washington Street, Monterey, CA)

Special Halloween California International Air Show

The 40e anniversary of the California International Airshow features the USAF Thunderbirds and Air Force and Navy F-35 fighter jets, and for the kids, don’t miss the Monster Trucks, Jet Trucks and the Chevron Exhibit STEM, the MCOE Fab Lab, the Navy STEM exhibit, and the Kid’s Zone (with special surprises for kids).

Children 12 and under benefit from free general admission on Sunday, October 31, 2021

Doors open at 9 a.m. and flights start around 10:30 a.m. The show ends at 4 p.m. on Sunday.

13 days of Halloween

Visitors can participate in the BINGO Big Pumpkin Hunt, take a photo in our panoramic photo booth, and enjoy festive specials at the dock. All events culminate with the annual Trick-o-Treating on the platform on October 31 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Halloween Carnage Skate Jam

Marina and her Police Activities League are organizing a skating event at the skate park from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Prizes will be given out for the best costume, although there are opportunities to win additional prizes at a raffle and other events.

Admission is $ 10 and is open to people of all ages.

Scotts Valley Halloween Scavenger Hunt

Scotts Valley’s premier Halloween event is back by popular demand! Those hoping to participate can collect their treasure maps from the Togolese of Scotts Valley to start their race around local businesses.

It all starts at 10:00 a.m. and ends at 8:00 p.m.

Halloween for the students of Marina High, Junior High

Los Arboles Upper Field on Halloween night is the site of multiple activities for Marina’s high school and high school students.

Activities include a 30-foot climbing wall, QB blitz, 25-foot jousting, and a tug-n-dunk.

A video game trailer will also be on site.

The opening hours for this event are 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and, as previously stated, is for students of Marina Junior High School and High School.
